Ports and Terminals Security is one of the major foundation principles and key tenants in maintaining effective and uninterrupted management of operations. All forms of security incidents could take place in your port, from minor case scenarios that cost time and money to a major incident case scenario with possible loss of life. The impact outcome will be based upon how you detect, respond, resolve, and recover from the event.
The International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code (and Government Port Security Regulations) requires ships and port facilities to be the ‘first responders’ to any given breach of security within their ship/port interface operations up to and until a local Government Agency can effectively attend the security incident site and respond. How long would this take in your port?
Ubonex has vast in ISPS implementation security plans and port security operations globally, including aboard offshore installations and fixed platforms isolated from shoreside security. Our Risk Management portfolio ranges from assistance in the development of Government level Maritime Domain Awareness security strategy and policies, to the functional training, roles and responsibilities of a security guard, and everything security in-between.

Marine works and submarine cable laying is vital to future global development – supporting telecommunications, energy, and government industries. Submarine cables transmit most of the world’s data and communications.

Cable laying ships are some of the most sophisticated and valuable ships on the ocean, responsible for the majority of the submarine cable installation, maintenance and decommissioning of subsea cables. They are also slow-moving, making them susceptible to
acts of piracy and terrorism. These individuals will also look for weakened security processes and systems as these cables are connected to land.

From strategy to deployed security guards, Ubonex has extensive experience in protecting cable laying and marine works projects from potential threats and attacks, keeping the team safe and the project running smoothly.
Our multi-language security teams are able to quickly assess complex onshore and offshore situations and create and implement simple and effective counterterrorism and emergency plans and procedures.

We can work alongside your team, train and prepare them in dealing with and managing threats, or support any third parties you work with. We can either provide security escort vessels (SEV’s) – fully equipped with threat detection, communication, and security equipment – or integrate our operations centre into your existing vessel, platform, or location.

The hydro carbon industry has been a long-time target for global terrorism, organised crime, piracy, and those who seek to attack across the Upstream and Downstream oil and gas operations supply chain.
We have experience in supplying our full range of security risk management services through from the discovery, extraction and production phases of onshore and offshore drilling and oil wells to protecting chemical carriers, LNG carriers, and all classifications of oil tankers. With significant experience in this sector throughout the AMEA regions (Africa, Middle East, and Asia) we offer intelligence and strategy-led solutions which can include on-site training, risk assessments and audits, and armed or unarmed security guards to help safeguard your people, business and your assets.
Our land and offshore security risk management services are effective, reliable, and affordable, and our teams of security and risk experts know how to work in complex high-risk environments. They understand the importance of simple, effective emergency plans, procedures, and resources, and can work with you to develop and implement them.
In addition to providing safety and security services to land based projects, what separates us from most security companies is our capability to work in the offshore and maritime domain. Our specialist maritime security teams can work alongside your stakeholders, providing on-platform maritime security experts, and keeping you safe with offshore security vessels. With the latter, we can either provide security escort vessels (SEV’s) fully equipped with threat detection, communication, and security equipment or integrate our operations centre into your existing project support vessels.
We can also upskill and enhance your existing team’s capabilities and knowledge through our security training programs, allowing facility security officers and staff to keep their skills and awareness relevant in an ever-changing security landscape.

Our training ensures that the correct duty of care is undertaken by the organisation deploying them. We teach delegates the correct ‘approach’ to incident reaction and responses and potential risks they may be exposed to in hostile environments. The course is designed to empower individuals enabling them to reduce the risks they face, and allow them to respond appropriately when confronted with a potentially dangerous situation.

SITUATION AWARENESS IN FOREIGN ENVIRONMENTS (SAFE)
